Helping Kids Flourish
For over 100 years, Starr Commonwealth has been helping children and their families through one simple belief: There’s no such thing as a bad child. Today, we operate dozens of programs aimed at bringing out the best in youth and their families.
“I love that saying, ‘There is no such thing as a bad kid.’ I believe in that. I believe that if you hug a kid, you give them love, you give them guidance...they will make it. They will make it.” — Dick Vitale
“We are all part of the same family. In every school and neighborhood, there are children without hope, but no child is hopeless. Each was put here for a purpose. These are just children who have not yet discovered their purpose. That is our mission.” — Muhammad Ali
“Square your shoulders to your responsibilities, hold fast to the ideals of the Starr Commonwealth, and with love and faith you will ride victoriously the whirlwind that is sweeping us to a higher civilization.” — Maya Angelou

“We have been around the block with treatment programs. Your program and the positive approach of building on strengths benefited my daughter greatly.”
