Intensive In-Home Mental Health
Service Area: Southern Michigan
Starr’s Mental Health program provides children, ages 4-17, with therapeutic ways of addressing their psychological challenges and learning to cope with their situations. The ultimate goal of this community-based program is keeping families together.
Through PsychSystems, Starr also reaches adults and children with developmental disabilities and/or neurological differences in their homes.
Residential Transition and Reintegration Support
A community-based program for boys, ages 12-18. This program provides intensive therapy and offers life skills that help boys integrate themselves back into the community.
Supervised Independent Living
Locations: Calhoun County and Detroit
Supervised Independent Living (SIL) is a Starr program for children, ages 16-20, under a contract with the Department of Human Services. We help children make the transition to independence, addressing education, employment and housing.
Youth Assistance Program
Starr’s Youth Assistance Program helps children build their confidence, self-esteem and academic performance.

Locations: Detroit and Southwest Michigan
Foster care is for children from birth to age 18 who have been removed from their families because of abuse or neglect. Many children need temporary homes, and placement counselors make sure children have secure places with caring foster parents. We’re always looking for good families to care for kids in transition.
