Starr Detroit

Starr Commonwealth and the kids of Detroit share a long history; in fact, 40 percent of the youth in Starr’s residential treatment programs in Albion have traditionally come from the Detroit area. But in 1987 the question was, “How can we keep these kids from falling through the cracks when they return home to the streets of Detroit?”

The answer was Starr Detroit, and a handful of community-based programs designed to help kids transition back into the community.
