Starr Columbus

Starr Columbus has been a welcoming shelter and supportive institution in Columbus since 1858, when Hannah Neil founded the area's first residential charity.  It was in 1978 when the Hannah Neil Center became part of Starr Commonwealth and the two organizations combined to bring their services to more children and families.

Today, Starr Columbus carries on Hannah Neil's mission on its 33-acre campus.  Children come to the location with problems from depression to learning difficulties, home and school truancy, delinquency, parental conflicts, physical and sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse as well as attempted suicide.
